How might we make WorkDrive into a highly collaborative platform, enabling effortless communication to be more collabarative with team and outside the team easily?

To create an integrated virtual collaboration platform to enhance communication and productivity for remote teams facing challenges in interacting seamlessly due to geographical dispersion and asynchronous work settings. By providing real-time chat, video conferencing, and centralized document sharing, the solution aimed to bridge the communication gap and improve overall collaboration within the organization.

The user's goal is to have efficient and effective communication and collaboration with remote team members despite geographical differences, seeking a platform that fosters real-time interactions and immediate feedback.

We created workdrive snap feature to Record Screen, Video & Audio and upload directly into WorkDrive itself.The problem we aim to address is the inefficiency and lack of seamless interaction within remote teams, leading to decreased productivity and hindered project outcomes.

Embarking on the journey to introduce the new WorkDrive Snap recording feature, we embarked on a comprehensive exploration. We examined existing recording tools, analyzed user needs through research methods like user interviews, field study and prototypes, and sought inspiration from industry leaders. This multi-faceted approach allowed us to craft a feature that seamlessly addresses user demands while maintaining a user-centric and innovative approach

User Interviews - Inquiring users for valuable insights
Initially, we identified and talked to Marketing, developers, designers, PM, QA tester & content writers and users asked a few questions with regard to their usage on daily basis in a recording software to each category. The users were primarily use third party softwares like loom and also who were using alternate like device camera to record themself. These answers were the base to start designing features for version one.
Field study
We Observe more than 20+ user in their working environment to know what they actually do with our product in daily basis who uses recording with screen and video record for themself or to share with the team and collabarate with others.
User Painpoints
1. Deponds on third party software and new features need to be paid. 2. Multiple usage of software, lack of productivity. 3. cannot record screen, only video of yours in devices camera. 4. Cannot trust all softwares due to screen and video permission
Learnings
Compititor Analysis
I conducted a competitive analysis to identify commonalities among competitors and gather valuable insights for building our product. This research allowed us to differentiate ourselves and provided a basis for product development.

Information Articheture
I created a Information Articheture to align with the team on feature functionality before designing the interface. This also contributes to a smoother navigation experience, helping users accomplish tasks efficiently.

User flow
Creating a high-level map of a complex system is a critical step to designing clear and rational flows. The maps below highlight key functionality of the add-on workflow. They were used to create alignment with members across engineering, product, and design.
Design
I designed the first concept experience in the first week in Figma based on the user flow we previously agreed on. I made sure to use research findings and overall data to make the user experience more simpler and faster.
